Philly’s Casino Places in Top 20 of Annual Ranking

PHILADELPHIA – March 29, 2017 – SugarHouse Casino received its sixth consecutive recognition as a “Top Workplace” in Philadelphia, according to the annual survey published by this week. The casino has a team of approximately 1,600 employees, which places it in the large company category. Within that category, SugarHouse was ranked in the top 20.

“Our Team Members are the reason guests continue to enjoy all that SugarHouse has to offer,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “Earning a sixth straight ‘Top Workplace’ award is an honor for everyone at the all-new bigger and better SugarHouse Casino.”

The “Top Workplaces” recognition is particularly meaningful because it’s awarded entirely from votes cast by the Team Members who work there. Rankings are tabulated from anonymous Team Member surveys and validated by a third party research firm called Workplace Dynamics. Each participant is asked to be open and honest in categories including work environment, confidence in managers, overall job satisfaction and more.

In the survey, SugarHouse Team Members mentioned “team work and collaboration” as reasons they enjoy working at the casino. Other positive comments mentioned the SugarHouse benefits package which includes healthcare, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, domestic partner benefits, quarterly service bonuses and more.

This is SugarHouse Casino’s twelfth workplace recognition award since opening in 2010. SugarHouse Casino has been named a “Top Workplace” by every year since 2012. The casino has also earned the “Best Place to Work” honor in the 2011-2016 Philadelphia Business Journal survey.
