Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady to Host Capital Region’s First-Ever Madden NFL eSports Tournament
Event to be Broadcast Live on Twitch.TV by Famed Sportscaster and Voice of Madden NFL Larry Ridley

Schenectady, NY (July 1, 2019) – Rivers Casino & Resort announced today that they will be hosting the Electric City Classic, a single-elimination Madden NFL eSports tournament featuring players from across the country and potentially the Capital District.

The best EA Sports Madden NFL 19 video game players from across the country will be squaring-off on the virtual gridiron at Van Slyck’s, next to the Rivers Sportsbook lounge, on Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. The tournament, organized by Compete4ever, will feature the top four players from the national online qualifier that will take place on July 8 and 9.

Former Jets and Ravens “All-Pro” linebacker, Bart Scott, will join the voice of Madden Football and famed sportscaster, Larry Ridley in the booth for play-by-play action from Rivers Casino as they broadcast live online on Twitch.TV/compete4ever. Bart and Larry will be available for a guest meet-and-greet. A Madden NFL gaming station will be set up near the broadcast booth for fans to play the game during the event.

The online qualifiers for XBOX ONE will be held on Monday, July 8, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time; players can register until Sunday night, July 7, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

The online qualifiers for the PS4 bracket will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time with registration for the qualifier ending Monday night, July 8 at 11:59 Eastern Time.

The top two finalists of each bracket will earn a spot in the tournament and play at Rivers Casino on Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The event is free and open to the public. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the competition or to enter Rivers Casino.

Players that advance to C4 Madden 19 Electric City Classic at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady, along with their guests, are responsible for their own travel and dining accommodations; however, each player will receive one free hotel stay for the night before the event, with a dining credit.

The 1st place winner receives $600, a free Gaming Chair and LucidSound Headset; 2nd place receives $200, and a free LucidSound Headset; and 3rd and 4th place winners receive $100 each.
