RIVERS CASINO COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS VOLUNTEER WITH NORTHSIDE COMMON MINISTRIES

PITTSBURGH — Oct. 28, 2019 — On Tuesday, Oct. 29, Rivers Casino Community Champions will volunteer with Northside Common Ministries. Team Members will be painting the dining room of the homeless shelter to help make it more warm and welcoming.

Northside Common Ministries is a non-sectarian, non-profit, community-based organization established in 1982 by a collaboration of 30 local churches to meet the increasing needs of the homeless population. Northside Common Ministries is committed to building bridges that connect our neighbors in need to an improved quality of life while tearing down the walls that keep the hungry and homeless from success.

“We are really looking forward to having the Rivers Casino Community Champions on site with us to help beautify and energize the homeless shelter,” said Jay Poliziani, director of Northside Common Ministries.

This volunteer opportunity is part of Rivers Casino’s ongoing community service outreach program. Each month, Team Members assist in a service project that benefits the Pittsburgh community. Most recently, the Rivers Casino Community Champions volunteered with Community Kitchen. Team Members helped prepare two or three days’ worth of meals for Community Kitchen.

“Each month, the Rivers Casino Community Champions look forward to the designated day of service,” said Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. “This month, we’re all looking forward to lending a helping hand to Northside Common Ministries.”
