Decadent cakes and confections highlight Philly’s sweetest event

PHILADELPHIA — Feb. 12, 2020 — Love is in the air this time of year, and Philly’s sweetest wedding and dessert showcase is here. Rivers Casino Philadelphia is hosting the second annual Philly Cake Crawl, which will feature over 30 wedding, dessert and beverage vendors in The Event Center on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 6:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $65 and include unlimited dessert samples, delicious drinks, catered bites, a swag bag to take home and more.

Guests will experience the Philly Cake Crawl in The Event Center’s 10,000-square-foot ballroom, which is tailor-made for wedding receptions. In addition to hosting the exhibition, Rivers will feature various wedding cake designs as well as decadent wedding cake samples. During the event, guests who book a future venue walkthrough will receive a $50 gift card to Hugo’s Frog Bar & Chop House, the casino’s high-end steakhouse.

The Philly Cake Crawl — which is presented by Emily Smith, owner of MLE Pictures, and Jacklin Altman, the voice behind Philly-based food blog Food by the Gram — is the city’s most delicious showcase, featuring the best local dessert and wedding vendors, giveaways and more. With an array of cakes, sweets and cocktails to sample, it’s the perfect opportunity for brides and grooms-to-be as well as friends, family and dessert lovers alike to try the area’s most delectable confections for any wedding or event. Lovehaus, a complete full-service event planning company, will provide The Event Center’s design and decor.

Guests can try a variety of catered eats from West Ave Grille; view beautiful floral arrangements by RAM Floral; get camera-ready at the “glam station” with wedding hair and makeup by Marissa Grace Artistry; participate in unbelievable giveaways, ranging from bridal earrings to an entire hand-painted cake, and dance the night away to DJ Hank McCoy.

Rivers’ wedding offerings include extravagant catering by the renowned Gibson’s Restaurant Group, which also runs Hugo’s. Guests can create the wedding of their dreams with customizable food and dessert options. From personalized decor and floor plans to food and dessert options of all kinds, Rivers Casino Philadelphia is the city’s ultimate wedding and event venue. The Event Center features a layout with no columns and floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the Delaware River waterfront and the Ben Franklin Bridge.

In addition to weddings and receptions, The Event Center at Rivers Casino Philadelphia can be reserved for a variety of occasions, including corporate events, seminars, trade shows and more. Parking is always free.
