Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady raises over $13,000 for the American Diabetes Association

Schenectady, NY (January 26, 2022) – Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady presented a check today in the amount of $13,390 to the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) (Upstate New York) to support their mission to prevent and cure diabetes.

The donated funds were raised during Rivers Casino’s Donations Make a Difference campaign in December. Casino guests donated their chips, vouchers, and cash to help fund the fight against diabetes.

“We are extremely grateful for the support of Rivers Casino, their guests and team members, through their recent campaign,” said Jeff Collins, ADA Upstate New York Executive Director. “Every dollar is critical to the ADA’s work to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. It is truly uplifting to know that people living with diabetes have the support of their local communities, and this campaign truly exemplifies that.”

Diabetes and prediabetes impacts more than 122 million Americans. The ADA has worked tirelessly for 81 years driving discovery and research to treat, manage, and prevent diabetes all while working relentlessly for a cure. Through advocacy, program development, and education, the ADA helps improve the quality of life for people living with the disease.

“Diabetes is personal for many of our team members and their families, and the work that the ADA is doing in providing support and services for those suffering from this disease is essential for improving lives,” said Rivers Casino & Resort Director of Human Resources, Linda Waters. “We’re thrilled to be able to do our part to support all of the ADA’s efforts.”
