Gross revenue generated by Rivers Casino in Des Plaines continued to hover well above the $30 million mark during March even though compared to this February, income was down by more than 7%.
Figures released by the Illinois Gaming Board last weekend show that the state’s 10th and newest riverboat casino, Rivers, solidly remained the most successful casino in Illinois.
A total of $34,828,000 in adjusted gross revenue was generated at Rivers in March. The next most successful casino—in Elgin—generated $20,107,000. In February, Rivers Casino generated $37,537,000.
How much a casino generates in adjusted gross revenue and in admissions tax revenue determines how must of that the state and host community get.
For 2012, Rivers Casino has generated $102,672,000 in gross income compared to Elgin’s $57,988,000.
