Gross revenue from slot machine play at Pennsylvania’s 11 casinos reached a record monthly high of $233.1 million in March.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said the total also marked an 8.5 percent from March 2011, when revenue was $214.9 million.
Rivers Casino had the fourth-highest increase in March, compared to the previous year, with a 9.8 percent increase to $26.7 million from $24.3 million. The $26.7 million in revenue was third-highest in the state behind Parx Casino, $37.3 million, and Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, $28.1 million.
The Meadows Racetrack and Casino was up 1.67 percent to $21.3 million from $20.2 million.
Tax revenue also reached a monthly high in March with $126.5 million, the board said.
