RIVERS CASINO ANNOUNCES FIRST CLASS OF RIVERS SCHOLARS

 

$250,000 WORTH OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TEAM MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES

DES PLAINES, IL (August 1, 2012) – Rivers Casino announced today the first class of Rivers Scholars through the Rivers Casino Scholarship Program that will award team members and their families over $250,000 in educational scholarships annually.  Each Rivers Scholar will receive between $2500 and up to the full cost of tuition, room and board and expenses for full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate study at accredited two or four year colleges, universities and vocational technical schools for the 2012 – 2013 academic year.  “Rivers Casino believes in giving back to the community and its’ team members.  By investing in education, we are investing in their future well-being,” said Bill Keena, General Manager of Rivers Casino.

“Rivers Casino is proud to announce its commitment to our team members and their families who desire to further their education and invest in their own futures,” said Greg Carlin, CEO of Midwest Gaming.  These educational scholarships are just one of many ways that Rivers Casino has shown its commitment and dedication to the community in their first year.  Other initiatives include a $1MM Scholarship to the University of Illinois as well as an additional $500,000 to Des Plaines and Chicagoland community organizations with a focus on educational based programs.
