PITTSBURGH Oct. 1, 2014 — Rivers Casino and the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA) announced today that $2.9 million has been received from Rivers and put toward construction expenses for CONSOL Energy Center.

Per agreement with the SEA, Rivers Casino makes two transfers annually, April 1 and October 1, totaling $7.5 million. To date, Rivers has generated $40.4 million to help fund CONSOL Energy Center.

In 2038, when the agreement concludes, Rivers Casino will have contributed $225 million to help build CONSOL Energy Center, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins and one of the city’s premiere entertainment venues.

“Rivers Casino is pleased to honor our commitment to the SEA and the Penguins,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. “We wish the team the very best this season. Let’s go Pens!”
