Savor the Last Days of Summer at Philly’s Casino


PHILADELPHIA — July 31, 2014 — Labor Day is fast approaching, but SugarHouse Casino’s hot August events and promotions are sure to help you beat the end-of-summer blues.



Gaming Promotions


Lunch with a Legend – SugarHouse is offering guests the chance to dine with notable Phillies alumni through its “Lunch with a Legend Sweepstakes.” Throughout baseball season, SugarHouse will host several luncheons with Philly sports icons, including former Phillies manager Charlie Manuel on Aug. 16, and former pitcher Roy “Doc” Halladay on Sept. 28.


At each luncheon, 15 winners and their guests will be able to dine with the legend, which includes VIP access, a three-course plated lunch, a signed 8×10 autographed photo and the opportunity to mix, mingle and participate in an exclusive question and answer session. Guests can enter at, by “liking” SugarHouse Casino on Facebook and then entering through the contest portal, or by checking in at any Rush Rewards kiosk. Entries through SugarHouse’s website and Facebook may be submitted one time throughout the promotion, but kiosk entries at the casino can be submitted once per day. Entries are free and cumulative.


$1 Million Mega Pick Drawing – Here’s the chance to win $1 million cash with SugarHouse’s mega pick drawing on Saturdays in August. Rush Rewards members can visit the kiosks at SugarHouse every day through Aug. 30 to receive one complimentary entry into the drawing. Each entry includes a series of six numbers, which can be randomly selected or chosen by the guest. Then, on Saturdays throughout the month, six random numbers will be chosen at 8 p.m. The more matching numbers guests have on their entries, the more money they win. Match all six and go home with the grand prize of $1 million.


And as a bonus after the 8 p.m. drawing, guests can drop their kiosk-printed entries into a drum for a second chance at 9 p.m., when ten guests will be selected to win $250 cash.


$100K Reel Progressive Payout – Join all the action and jump into the $100,000 Reel Progressive Payout. The progressive jackpot starts at $10,000 and builds as guests play. The jackpot is guaranteed to go off at any time by $100,000, and one person playing with their Rush Rewards Card at that time will be randomly selected to win the cash prize. Since the start, more than $174,000 in jackpots have been paid out.


$150K Cash Blast Sweepstakes – All month guests can earn entries for a chance to go into SugarHouse’s Money Grab Machine. On Sunday, Aug. 31 and Saturday, Sept. 1, two people will be selected every half hour between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. to enter the Money Grab Machine for a chance to snatch up to $3,000 cash. As a bonus, if a special bill is grabbed, participants can double their winnings.


$50,000 Fantasy Football Challenge – Fantasy Football has never been better thanks to SugarHouse’s $50,000 Fantasy Football Challenge. Starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, and continuing throughout football season, Rush Rewards members can select their weekly fantasy football picks for free at SugarHouse. Participants can play up to eight times per week, and their highest scoring entry will be counted toward a weekly ranking. At the end of each week, guests can visit the Fantasy Football kiosk to see if they’ve won one of the weekly prizes of up to $2,500 cash. The overall season winner with the highest total score will have a shot at going to the big game in 2015.

Night Out Restaurant Week – Sample the best of Fishtown, Northern Liberties and Penn’s Landing eateries during Night Out Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants will offer specials for lunch and dinner Friday, Aug. 1— Sunday, Aug. 10.


Come for lunch or dinner at The Refinery, which will feature a $20 lunch and $35 dinner menu. Enjoy French onion soup, a 14 oz. T-bone steak, chocolate cake and more, all for a set price. Plus, catch live music every evening of Night Out Restaurant Week on SugarHouse’s waterfront stage.


Guests that dine at any of the 14 official Night Out Restaurant Week establishments are eligible to receive $10 free slot play between Aug.1—Aug. 31 with a valid dining receipt and official voucher.

Summer Concert Specials – Satellite bars will be stationed along the waterfront during the Outdoor Summer Concert Series for guests to take advantage of great tropical drink specials, including $5 beer selections and $6 specialty drinks, such as mango margaritas, strawberry punch drinks, blue Hawaiians and more. Guests can also go to the Sugar Shack for beach snacks priced at $7 or less, including:

Happy Hour – Enjoy Happy Hour at SugarHouse Casino every week, Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 5—8 p.m. Specials include $2 beer, $3 wine and $4 cocktails, plus half-priced appetizers.

Free Craps Lessons

Want to learn Craps, the fun dice game that sends the sounds of laughter, clapping and cheering throughout the casino? Stop by the Craps section of SugarHouse on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 5:30 p.m. for a free lesson from Philly’s casino’s table games staff. The lesson includes one free drink and free match play.


Philly Pheud – SugarHouse Casino is the official host of PHL17’s Philly Pheud, a game show hosted by Mike Missanelli, where teams of four compete for prizes by answering Philly-themed trivia questions. This month, the filming of the game show will take place in The Refinery restaurant on Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 7—10 p.m. Competing teams will win various prizes including $1,000 cash for the first place team and $100 free play for each participant of the second place team. Anyone 21 or older is invited to sit in the audience and will receive $10 free play if they are a new Rush Rewards member, a Philly Pheud branded gift, as well as access to happy hour specials in The Refinery.


Outdoor Summer Concert Series

All summer long on Friday and Saturday nights from 6 p.m. to midnight, guests can lounge, dance and dine outdoors on the beautiful waterfront while listening to the sounds of Philly’s favorite bands during SugarHouse’s free Outdoor Summer Concert Series.


Opening acts will get the crowds moving to start off every Friday and Saturday night, with a live DJ playing in between sets and before the headlining band takes the stage from 9 p.m.—midnight. Then, the fun continues with a live DJ inside The Refinery restaurant until 1:30 a.m.


The local favorites headlining the SugarHouse Outdoor Summer Concert Series stage include:
