Philly’s Casino Ends 2012 with Great Gaming and Dining Options

PHILADELPHIA —Nov. 30, 2012 — ‘Tis the season to head to SugarHouse Casino for exciting gaming and delicious dining options throughout the month of December.

$1 Million Football Challenge Game – Continuing throughout the football season, visit the Rush Rewards Kiosk to select your weekly winning teams for a chance to win prizes. Each week the top three players with the best rankings will win their share of $2,500. On Jan. 6, 2013, the top five players with the best season-long rankings will be announced. Second through fifth place will split $9,500 cash and first place wins an all-inclusive trip to New Orleans and two tickets to the big game. Ten other players will have a chance to win $1,000 cash in a raffle drawing on Jan. 6. By the end of the season, if a guest was able to pick 205 winning games correctly out of the 238 total games, he or she will take home a linebacker-sized check for $1 million cash. No purchase necessary. 

$75K Macy’s Holiday Weekend Sweepstakes – Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 1 and ending on Sunday, Dec. 2, guests have a chance to earn entries to win their share of more than $75,000 in Macy’s gift cards. Drawings will take place Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 between 2—10 p.m. Guests can earn entries by playing with their Rush Rewards card and must activate those entries on the days of the drawing at SugarHouse’s kiosk.

12/12/12 Sweepstakes – On Wednesday, Dec. 12, between noon and midnight, one person will be selected every 12 minutes to choose a mystery envelope containing a variable amount of free play. As a bonus, all free play prizes awarded with be multiplied by 12.

Santa’s Luxury Ride Through Christmas day, guests can earn entries for a chance to win a brand new 2013 IS Lexus. On Tuesday, Dec. 25, two people will be selected every half-hour between 5—9:30 p.m. for a chance to play the “Win a New 2013 Lexus” game. Rush Rewards members must activate their entries between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. that day to be eligible.

New Year’s $25K Cash Sweepstakes – Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 6 a.m., through Monday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m., guests can earn entries for the chance to win a share of $25,000 cash on New Year’s Day between midnight and 2 a.m. One winner will be selected every half hour.

Win $2,013 Sweepstakes – Start the New Year off right at SugarHouse with prizes that will make 2013 feel like it could be your lucky year. Philly’s casino is offering guests the chance to win $2,013 every half-hour from noon until 6 p.m. Guests can begin earning entries at 6 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Dining & Beverage Specials

Inside The Refinery on New Year’s Day, guests can enjoy a Mummers Day Brunch from 10 a.m.—2 p.m. for $14.99. Listen to live jazz music while enjoying breakfast and lunch favorites such as hand-dipped French toast, made-to-order omelets, pastries such as danishes and cannolis, sweet chili glazed salmon, vegetable fried rice and ricotta-stuffed shells.

Every Sunday during football season, guests can refuel with delicious tailgate specials in The Refinery. Some of the specials include appetizer combos such as wing and rings for $10; a SugarHouse Sampler Platter with waffle fries, sliders and mini hot dogs for $15; and the “4th Quarter” that includes four types of sliders for $10. Plus, Miller Lite 16-oz. aluminum bottles will only cost $3.

New Year’s Events at SugarHouse

For the third year in a row, SugarHouse is the proud presenting sponsor of the Penn’s Landing fireworks display over the Delaware River. On New Year’s Eve at SugarHouse, party at the casino’s Refinery restaurant and bar from 10 p.m.—midnight with live music from the FunkyHorns Band. Tickets for the dance party are $65 in advance or $75 at the door and include two hours of open bar, passed appetizers, a champagne toast at midnight and New Year’s Eve hats, horns and other goodies. Plus, get an exclusive viewing spot of the Penn’s Landing fireworks from SugarHouse’s Waterfront deck.

SugarHouse will also extend its free SugarExpress service through 6 a.m. so all guests can get home safely. Guests must be 21 to attend and can purchase tickets at

Outside on SugarHouse’s riverfront walking path, concessions will be available from 5 p.m.—midnight to catch both the 6 p.m. and midnight fireworks displays. Enjoy snacks such as roasted peanuts, deep fried Oreos, French fries and cheesesteaks plus spiced hot chocolate, all for $7 or less.

For both fireworks shows, SugarHouse will be broadcasting a simulcast of the Penn’s Landing soundtrack.

On New Year’s Day, watch the Mummers Parade, presented by SugarHouse, on one of the 1,600 slot machine TVs or 120 LCD screens throughout the casino. Or, ride the Mummers Parade Party Bus for free to see the parade in-person. Plus, get some New Year’s swag while you listen to a live DJ who will be providing a traveling dance party. The shuttle is available for Rush Rewards card members only, and will run continuously from the parade judging area to the casino between 10 a.m.—6 p.m.

Other Events & Entertainment

Get ready for Wing Bowl 21 in Philadelphia by celebrating with SportsRadio WIP’s Marc Farzetta and former football star Hollis Thomas at SugarHouse Casino’s Wingette event on Friday, Dec. 14 from 8—9:30 p.m. Women can compete for a spot as a Wingette by wearing their best lingerie and guests will be able to vote for their favorite. The winner will also receive an all-inclusive, three-night trip for two to the Barcelo Hotel and Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

At the Wingette event, enjoy $2 beer, $3 wine and $4 mixed drinks from 8—10 p.m., plus a wing bowl platter for $12.95, which includes assorted wings, fries and onion rings. And, stick around afterward to enjoy music from The Exceptions.

He’s the “Geator with the Heater” and he’s spinning tunes every week at SugarHouse on “Rockin’ with Blavat Wednesdays.” Renowned radio disc jockey and Philadelphia legend Jerry Blavat performs at The Refinery restaurant from 5—7 p.m. And, on Wednesday, Dec. 19, join him for a very special Geator Holiday Party.

Additionally, every Wednesday SugarHouse will give guests “More to Love” after Blavat’s weekly performances in The Refinery from 7—10 p.m.

Looch is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience as a solo disc jockey. And earlier in the night, “Bust a Move” with DJ Lamb, who will be warming up the crowd starting at 5 p.m.

Known for being one of Philly’s most popular bandleaders, Philadelphia’s own Eddie Bruce will perform on “Swing-Out Fridays” from 6:30—9:30 p.m. at The Refinery. Eddie brings classic jazz standards to life and lots of fun and surprises to every performance. This month, he’ll be joined by the Tom Adams Trio. The music will continue after each of Eddie’s performances with “Dance Party Friday.” Join the dance party until 1:30 a.m. with great acts such as:
