SUGARHOUSE CASINO ANNOUNCES MAY EVENTS AND PROMOTIONS

Celebrate the Warm Weather Season with Exciting Gaming and Delicious Dining on the River

PHILADELPHIA — April 30, 2013 — The weather is finally warming up and SugarHouse Casino is inviting Philadelphians to come have some fun on the river with exciting events, entertainment, dining options and gaming all month long.                 

Gaming Promotions

$1 Million Mega Pick Drawing – Your chance to win $1 million cash with SugarHouse’s Mega Pick Drawing will continue during Saturdays in May. Rush Rewards members can visit the kiosks at SugarHouse every day to receive one complimentary entry into the drawing. Each entry includes a series of six numbers, which can be randomly selected or chosen by the guest. Then, on Saturdays throughout the month, six random numbers will be chosen at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The more matching numbers guests have on their entries, the more money they win. Match all six and go home with the grand prize of $1 million.

$25K Wild & Crazy Cash Sweepstakes – Throughout the month, invited guests have a chance to take home a cash prize that has been growing each month since February. Guests can earn entries for the chance to win a share of $25,000 before the drawing on Friday, May 17, at 7:15 p.m., when five winners will be selected. Once chosen, the winners will each pick a ball out of the prize box numbered one through five. The number will correspond to a case with a mystery cash prize inside. As a bonus at the end of the promotion, one wild card winner will be chosen to win $500 free play.

$5K Free Play Cinco de Mayo Giveaway – On Cinco de Mayo—Sunday, May 5—between noon and 8 p.m., one participant will be selected every hour to pick a lucky coin out of a piñata to win their share of $5,000 free play with a guarantee of at least $100 free play. Participants must be playing a slot machine using their Rush Rewards Card during the contest time for a chance to win.

$25K Dooney & Bourke Hand Bag Sweepstakes – Starting May 1, guests can earn entries for a chance to win a Dooney & Bourke handbag on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12. Between noon and 8:30 p.m. that day, three winners will be selected every 15 minutes to take home one of the luxury designer bags.    

$100K Free Play Blow Out – Starting on May 1 at 6 a.m., guests can earn entries for the chance to win their share of $100,000 free play during Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday, May 26, between 2—10 p.m. There will be more than 160 winners. To be eligible, guests must activate their entries by swiping at one of the SugarHouse kiosks between 6 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. on May 26.

Food & Beverage Specials

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Mexican-inspired specials and music at The Refinery on Sunday, May 5. Listen to the sounds of the Cintron Latin Dance Band from 1—5 p.m., while enjoying favorites such as gazpacho, shrimp ceviche, mole chicken, Corona-battered fish tacos or three-cheese quesadillas, plus beer and margarita specials.

Enjoy a Mother’s Day champagne brunch at SugarHouse on Sunday, May 12 from 11 a.m.—3 p.m. Treat mom to a menu designed by SugarHouse’s new executive chef, Chef Michael Sokoloski, which will feature items such as scrambled eggs, French toast, an omelet station, smoked salmon, a carved steamship of beef, bananas foster and assorted muffins and pastries. The cost is $25 per person and includes a complimentary glass of champagne.

Philadelphia has quickly become world renowned for its beer scene, and what better way to celebrate it than with the city’s own annual Philly Beer Week (PBW), which begins on Friday, May 31. SugarHouse will kick-off the highly anticipated event by transporting the iconic “Hammer of Glory” around the participating bars scattered throughout the city—including SugarHouse’s own Refinery restaurant and bar.

Throughout the week, enthusiasts can head to the casino for great PBW promotions. Make a food or beverage purchase of at least $10 from The Refinery’s special menu and receive $25 of match play. In addition, on June 2 and 9 at 7 p.m., visit SugarHouse for a Victory Brew Master Dinner for $40 per person. Enjoy a delicious four-course menu, along with six-ounce samples of Victory beer. During every Phillies game at The Refinery restaurant and bar, enjoy $2 hot dogs and $2 Bud Lights. Plus, watch the games on any of SugarHouse’s 1,600 slot machine TVs or 140 LCD screens throughout the casino. After the games broadcast on PHL17, catch the Phillies Post Game Show at the Refinery bar with hosts Mike Missanelli and Phillies legend Larry Bowa.

Events & Entertainment

Join SugarHouse on Sunday, May 5, at the Equality Forum’s SundayOut! Festival from 11 a.m.—5 p.m. at The Piazza at Schmidt’s. Visit the SugarHouse booth to play a dice game for the chance to win great prizes.

Then, head a few blocks to the casino for the official SundayOut! After-Party at 5 p.m., which will have great food and drink specials with Philly’s most colorful crowd. Following a mix and mingle, performances by Manila Luzon and Carmen Carrera will take place, as well as a Variety Show hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race head judge, Michelle Visage, starting at 7 p.m.

He’s Philly’s own “Geator with the Heater” and he’s spinning tunes every week at SugarHouse on Rockin’ with Jerry Blavat Wednesdays. The renowned radio disc jockey and legend performs at The Refinery restaurant from 5—7 p.m.

Every Thursday from 5—8 p.m., bust a move at SugarHouse with DJ Jimmy Lamb, followed by favorite local crooners Eddie Bruce & Friends. Eddie brings classic jazz and swing standards to life with his performance from 8 p.m. to midnight in The Refinery.

Start the weekend off at SugarHouse with acoustic duos on Fridays from 6—9:30 p.m. in The Refinery. Then, let loose with the Friday Night Dance Party until 1 a.m., featuring some of the area’s biggest bands like Don’t Call Me Francis and The Sensational Soul Cruisers.

From 6:30—9:30 p.m. get your groove on at SugarHouse as the casino hosts Acoustic Saturdays. The band will strum the night away while you dance to some of your favorite guitar classics. Starting at 9:30 p.m., the laid back vibe will transform to a dance-heavy party as the Jersey Shore invades! Jersey Shore Invasion will take place every Saturday until 1 a.m.
