Philly’s Casino Kicks Off Football Season With Exciting Gaming Promotions and Delicious Dining

PHILADELPHIA —Aug. 31, 2012 — With tasty tailgating specials and even more ways to win this September, SugarHouse is ready for some football. Between the $1 million dollar football challenge, the “4th Quarter” appetizer sampler and the casino’s 140 LCD television screens, SugarHouse is Philadelphia’s football headquarters.  

Gaming Promotions 

$1 Million Football Challenge Game – Starting Sept. 5 and continuing throughout football season, visit the Rush Rewards Kiosk to select your weekly winning teams for a chance to win prizes. Each week the top three players with the best rankings will win their share of $2,500. On Jan. 6, 2013, the top five players with the best season-long rankings will be announced. Second through fifth place will split $9,500 cash and first place wins an all-inclusive trip to New Orleans and two tickets to the big game. Ten other players will have a chance to win $1,000 cash in a raffle drawing on Jan. 6. By the end of the season, if a guest was able to pick 205 winning games correctly out of the 238 total games, he or she will take home a linebacker-sized check for $1 million dollars cash. No purchase necessary. 

Football Kick-off Sweepstakes On Saturday, Sept. 8, between 1—6 p.m., one guest playing slots, video poker or table games with a Rush Rewards card will be selected every 30 minutes to win more than $5,000 in free play and great football prizes.

New Member Kiosk Promotion – Starting Monday, Sept. 10, guests who sign-up for a Rush Rewards card can play the scratch-off kiosk game for a chance to win up to $5,000 in free play. New members receive $5 in free play just for signing up.

Luxury Car Sweepstakes – Guests can earn virtual entries for a chance to win a luxury-brand car, or their share of $10,000 in free slot play every Saturday in September. Entries are earned by playing slots, video poker or table games with a Rush Rewards card. The car drawing will take place at 9 p.m. with a different type of car every Saturday.

Win a Dream Home Sweepstakes – Through Sunday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m., guests can earn entries for a chance to win up to $10,000 cash or their very own Florida dream home. On Sept. 1, one guest will be selected at 8 p.m. to receive $500 free play or 500 bonus entries into the sweepstakes. Then, on Sept. 2 from 10 a.m.—7 p.m., one guest will be chosen every hour to play for a chance to win the grand prize. The ten chosen guests will all be guaranteed to win at least $100 cash.

Money Grab Machine – Every Tuesday in Sept. between noon and 8 p.m., one guest will be selected every half-hour to enter the money grab machine for a chance to grab up to $3,500 in cash. Each guest will be allowed 30 seconds inside the money grab machine to pick-up as much cash as they can.

Dining & Beverage Specials

Every Sunday during football season, guests can refuel with delicious tailgate specials in The Refinery. Some of the specials include appetizer combos such as wing and rings for $10; a SugarHouse Sampler Platter with waffle fries, sliders and mini hot dogs for $15; and a “4th Quarter” that includes four types of sliders for $10. Plus, Miller Lite 16-oz. aluminum bottles will only cost $3.

During every Philadelphia Phillies game throughout the regular season, enjoy $2 hot dogs and $2 Bud Light bottles at SugarHouse.

In addition, SugarHouse Casino offers happy hour at The Refinery daily from 6—8 p.m. Happy hour deals include $2 beer, $3 wine and $4 cocktails.

Entertainment & Events 

Every Thursday in September starting at 8 p.m., local favorite and South Philly native DJ Johnny Looch will be sharing his passion for music by spinning crowd favorites sure to get everyone on their feet. Looch is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience as a solo disc jockey. And, as a SugarHouse welcome to him, the casino will host the DJ Johnny Looch Kick-off Party on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 8 p.m.—midnight to mark his first appearance at Philly’s casino.

Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins will be at SugarHouse Casino on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. The retired star that spent 13 years with the Eagles will assist in kicking-off football season at Philly’s casino by meeting fans and taking photos. A Philadelphia favorite, Dawkins announced his retirement in April 2012 and then signed a one-day contract with his former Philadelphia team so that he could end his remarkable NFL career as an Eagle.

On Saturday Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m., SugarHouse is introducing you to the Playmates. Playboy Playmates will be at the casino to meet guests and sign autographs, and will even make a guest appearance behind the bar to mix some cocktails.

He’s the “Geator with the Heater” and he’s spinning tunes every week at SugarHouse. Renowned radio disc jockey and Philadelphia legend Jerry Blavat performs at The Refinery restaurant on “Old School” Wednesdays from 5—7 p.m.

Known for being one of Philly’s most popular bandleaders, Philadelphia’s own Eddie Bruce will perform on “Swinging Fridays” from 5:30—11 p.m. at The Refinery. Eddie brings classic jazz standards to life and lots of fun and surprises to every performance. On Sept. 7, special guest Paula Jones will take the place of Eddie Bruce for the night. Also, on Sept. 14, the SugarBabes (Rosina DeLuca, Shelia Weiler and Janet Wright) will perform alongside Eddie.

SugarHouse hosts “Rockin Saturdays,” from 5 p.m.—1 a.m. at The Refinery. Hit the dance floor to all of the hottest tunes from bands such as:
