Philly’s Casino Brings a Non-Stop Celebration to the City

PHILADELPHIA — Nov. 29, 2012 — SugarHouse Casino is throwing the city of Philadelphia a party like no other with back-to-back presenting sponsorships of the New Year’s Eve fireworks and New Year’s Day Mummers Parade. Philly’s first and only casino is also the place to be for a non-stop celebration from the end of 2012 through the start of 2013 on SugarHouse’s Delaware River waterfront property.

SugarHouse announced its second consecutive dual sponsorships earlier today at a special media preview held at the casino’s Refinery restaurant and bar. At the event, the casino offered a sneak peek of what guests can expect for the New Year’s Eve fireworks display over the Delaware River and the long-running Philadelphia tradition, the Mummers Parade.

More excitingly, SugarHouse also unveiled its plans for a 24-hour celebration starting on New Year’s Eve and continuing through New Year’s Day for its guests.

“Each year, SugarHouse works to up the ante on our New Year’s Celebration and the party we’re throwing this year is going to be fantastic,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “Philly’s casino is the place to be New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day—wear your party pants.”

SugarHouse Casino’s Countdown ‘til Midnight

On New Year’s Eve at SugarHouse, party at the casino’s Refinery restaurant and bar from 10 p.m.—midnight with live music from the FunkyHorns Band. Tickets for the dance party are $65 in advance or $75 at the door and include two hours of open bar, passed appetizers, a champagne toast at midnight and New Year’s Eve hats, horns and other goodies. Plus, get an exclusive viewing spot of the Penn’s Landing fireworks from SugarHouse’s Waterfront deck.

Outside on SugarHouse’s riverfront walking path, concessions will be available from 5 p.m.—midnight to catch both the 6 p.m. and midnight fireworks displays. Enjoy snacks such as roasted peanuts, deep fried Oreos, French fries and cheesesteaks plus spiced hot chocolate, all for $7 or less.

For both fireworks shows, SugarHouse will be broadcasting a simulcast of the Penn’s Landing soundtrack.

In addition, beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 6 a.m., through Dec. 31 at 9 p.m., guests can earn entries for the chance to win a share of $25,000 cash on New Year’s Day between midnight and 2 a.m. One winner will be selected every half hour and the grand prize will be drawn at 2 a.m.

Say Hello to 2013 with SugarHouse Casino

Start the New Year off right at SugarHouse with prizes that will make 2013 feel like it could be your lucky year. Philly’s casino is offering guests the chance to win $2,013 every half-hour from noon until 6 p.m. Guests can begin earning entries at 6 a.m. on Jan. 1. While you’re playing, watch the Mummers Parade on one of the 1,600 slot machine TVs or 120 LCD screens throughout the casino.

Inside The Refinery, guests can enjoy a Mummers Day Brunch from 10 a.m.—2 p.m. for $14.99. Listen to live jazz music while enjoying breakfast and lunch favorites such as hand-dipped French toast, made-to-order omelets, pastries such as danishes and cannolis, sweet chili glazed salmon, vegetable fried rice and ricotta-stuffed shells.

Once your stomach is full, ride the Mummers Parade Party Bus over to the parade route for free. Plus, get some New Year’s swag while you listen to a live DJ who will be providing a traveling dance party. The shuttle is available for Rush Rewards card members only, and will run continuously from the parade judging area to the casino between 10 a.m.—6 p.m.
