Philly’s Casino Hosting Contest for Fans to Win Cash in Hockey Shoot-out
PHILADELPHIA — April 10, 2013 — Flyers fans, rejoice. SugarHouse Casino is offering guests and hockey fanatics the chance to not only be at center ice during an upcoming Flyers game at the Wells Fargo Center, but an opportunity to score $100,000 cash as well.
Philly’s casino has announced its first-ever $100,000 Open Net Challenge, which anyone 21 or over can enter via SugarHouse’s Facebook page through April 17. It’s free to enter and one lucky winner will receive two free tickets to the Flyers game versus the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, April 18.
In between two periods, the selected contestant will be invited to center ice where 25 hockey pucks will be lined up. The winner will have a chance to shoot each puck from behind the center ice line into an empty net. For every shot made, the contestant will win $200. If he or she makes 15 shots in 20 seconds, they’ll score $100,000 in cold, hard cash.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for one lucky Flyers fan,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “We’ll be notifying the contestant the night before the game, so they’ll have a few hours to practice their slap shot at home.”
