The United Service Organization (USO) of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, Liberty USO, will host the Christmas in July send-off event in culmination of the Christmas in July program. The send-off event will include the assembly of Philly Fun boxes contributed by SugarHouse Casino, which feature items such as snacks, energy drinks, SugarHouse windbreakers and towels.
The USO Show Troupe, a patriotic entertainment tradition that features colorful song and dance, will be performing. The performers have Broadway, film and TV credits and the show is produced and choreographed with the help of Grammy, Emmy and Tony award winners.
Liberty USO will ship the care packages to deployed National Guard troops from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The care packages are designed to improve the quality of life and provide a moment’s respite from soldiers’ duties for those deployed overseas.
A total of 10 Ambassador organizations each committed to building at least 100 care packages. They also combined to donate more than $6,000 to help cover shipping costs, among other expenses.
