PORTSMOUTH — Feb. 16, 2024 – Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, one of today's most successful stand-up comedians, is set to fill The Event Center at Rivers Casino Portsmouth with laughter and amusement. Fans can catch her live stand-up performance on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $39 and will go on sale this Friday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available online at RiversCasino.com.
With six comedy specials now streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime and other major platforms, Johnson-Reyes is a former NFL cheerleader that skyrocketed to fame as MADtv’s Bon Qui Qui. She’s since honed her narrative comedy into a vast portfolio of relevant, hilarious stage shows sharing her experiences as a rising star, devoted family member and new mom.
Her latest comedy special, "Say I Won’t," debuted on YouTube and garnered over 3.8 million views — showcasing her undeniable talent that keeps people laughing across the globe.
Beyond her stand-up career, Anjelah demonstrated her diverse talents through her first memoir, "Who Do I Think I Am?: Stories of Chola Wishes and Caviar Dreams"— published in March 2022. Her journey from San Jose, Calif., to the comedy elite has been fueled by her rich Mexican and Native American heritage — adding depth and relatability to her humor.
Johnson-Reyes' impact on television and film is significant, with guest appearances on shows like "Life & Beth," "Superstore," "The Shield," "Ugly Betty," and "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
