RIVERS CASINO PITTSBURGH AGAIN PARTNERS WITH WTAE’S PROJECT BUNDLE-UP

Casino volunteers will support program led by WTAE and The Salvation Army
PITTSBURGH — Oct. 22, 2024 — The Rivers Gives team at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is once again set to participate in WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up, an annual initiative that helps disadvantaged community members shop for winter outerwear.
A joint program implemented by The Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division and WTAE, project Bundle-Up provides local children and senior citizens from low-income households with all-new warm winter outerwear, including coats, hats, gloves and boots.
This week, children and seniors supported by project Bundle-Up will be paired with shopping partners from the Rivers Gives team who will help them select brand-new winter gear on Wednesday, Oct. 23, when program volunteers and beneficiaries are transported to Walmart.
“Participating in project Bundle-Up is a fantastic opportunity for our team to make a difference in the lives of community members who may be struggling or facing financial hardship,” said Dr. Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh.
“As is our tradition, we’re making sure that Pittsburghers in need have the necessary clothing to stay warm and safe this winter,” said Victoria Gill, director of WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up. “Thanks to Rivers Gives, we’re providing another year of support during the upcoming season, which can be a challenging time of year for many.”
Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach program, in which casino staffers report to work at a local nonprofit instead of the gaming floor. In September, Rivers Gives volunteers visited Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard to help with facility enhancement, landscaping and general campus beautification.
