RIVERS CASINO PITTSBURGH’S ‘RIVERS GIVES’ VOLUNTEERS TEAM UP AGAIN WITH ‘PROJECT BUNDLE-UP’

North Shore casino supports WTAE’s long-running Salvation Army collaboration
PITTSBURGH — Oct. 24, 2023 — Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s “Rivers Gives” volunteers will warm up for winter with WTAE-TV’s “project Bundle-Up” on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Casino Team Members will take local senior citizens from low-income households shopping for seasonal outerwear at Walmart.
A collaborative initiative between WTAE-TV and The Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania, project Bundle-Up provides children, ages 18 and under, and seniors, ages 62 and over, with winter clothing to ensure their warmth and safety throughout and in advance of the upcoming cold season.
Rivers Pittsburgh has supported project Bundle-Up for several years. This week, seniors will be matched with shopping partners from Wednesday’s group of casino volunteers to help select brand-new winter outerwear—including coats, hats, gloves and boots.
“Rivers Casino Team Members are looking forward to spending the day shopping with local residents. We are privileged to play a part in keeping Pittsburgh warm this holiday season,” said Dr. Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh.
“The volunteer base of project Bundle-Up plays an instrumental role in guaranteeing the safety of local residents throughout the Pittsburgh area, as cold winter temperatures approach,” said Victoria Gill, director of WTAE-TV’s project Bundle-Up. “Our thanks go to Dr. Hart as well as the Rivers Gives team for their annual support in supplying our local community with winter essentials.”
Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach program in which casino Team Members report to work at a local nonprofit instead of the gaming floor. If you’re interested in connecting with Rivers Casino’s Rivers Gives team, please visit RiversCasino.com/Pittsburgh.
