RIVERS CASINO PORTSMOUTH & WTKR NEWS 3 HOST “THE PRICE IS RIGHT” IN-PERSON CONTESTANT SEARCH ON NOV. 15
Portsmouth, Va. – October 8, 2024 – Are you the next contestant on The Price is Right? In collaboration with WTKR News 3, Rivers Casino Portsmouth will host the first-ever Virginia contestant search for the celebrated game show, “The Price is Right”— the longest-running game show in American television history and the top-rated CBS daytime series.
Interviews will take place at The Event Center at Rivers Casino Portsmouth on Friday, Nov. 15, with onsite registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. Numbered wristbands will be distributed in the order of arrival. Participants may line up as early as 7 a.m. Registrations will close at 6 p.m.
Casting producers from The Price is Right will select two participants from the Nov. 15 Portsmouth event to win travel and accommodations to Los Angeles, for a taping of The Price is Right hosted by Drew Carey. One local standout will be guaranteed a spot on the show’s famed ‘Contestant’s Row’.
“This is the first casting call contestant search since before the pandemic. I know viewers and fans are really excited to get a chance to compete on this classic game show,” said Adam Chase, Vice President and General Manager of WTKR.
Coast Live … Live from Rivers Casino Portsmouth!
The first 200 participants in line by 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 will have the opportunity to join the ‘studio’ audience of WTKR’s Coast Live, which will broadcast live from Rivers’ Event Center that morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Members of the Coast Live audience may win additional prizes courtesy of Rivers Casino Portsmouth, including gift certificates to Admiral’s Steak & Seafood, tickets to upcoming performances, and more. Coast Live is hosted by April Woodard and Chandler Nunnally.
On-camera auditions for The Price is Right begin immediately following Coast Live at 10 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. in The Event Center.
Participants are urged to visit WTKR.com and read the complete rules and eligibility requirements, as well as print and fill out the application and waiver before their arrival. Walk-ins are welcome and encouraged throughout the day. Only the first 500 registrants are assured an audition at the Nov. 15 contestant search. Participants are advised to arrive early; late-entry registrations or arrivals may not be heard if capacity has been reached. Applicants must be 18 or older with a valid ID.
Recipients of The Price is Right tickets and trip to L.A. will be notified by WTKR News 3 once casting producers have an opportunity to review audition tapes and make selections.
Prepare to Bid, SHOWCASE Your Personality!
Hopefuls are encouraged to bring their energy and excitement to the audition – making their on-camera presentation engaging and memorable. Each participant will be granted a three-minute window to prepare and deliver a thirty-second pitch, showcasing their personality and enthusiasm. For more details visit WTKR.com.
Producers anticipate a strong turnout, as Portsmouth and Hampton Roads are popular East Coast destinations. Guests are expected from nearby cities, surrounding states, greater Washington, D.C., and beyond.
