Rivers Casino to Lend Helping Hand to Community Kitchen Pittsburgh on Aug. 28
Casino Team Members return to CKP, helping prep meals and supporting mission
PITTSBURGH — Aug. 27, 2024 — The Rivers Gives team from Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is readying for its second volunteer day this year with Community Kitchen Pittsburgh. On Wednesday, Aug. 28, 9 a.m. to noon, casino Team Members will assist CKP in preparing ready-to-go meals for community members in need.
CKP uses food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities, providing culinary training and opening career pathways to individuals who experience barriers to employment. CKP operates with the idea that everyone who enters its doors is inherently worthy and has the potential to reach and exceed their goals, regardless of their past or present. CKP works to provide opportunities for success and lifelong careers to its individual clients.

Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach program, in which casino staffers report to work at a local nonprofit instead of the gaming floor. In July, Rivers Gives volunteers visited The Woodlands in Wexford to help with campus maintenance and outdoor upkeep initiatives.
