RIVERS GIVES TEAM RETURNS TO NORTHSIDE FOOD PANTRY FOR MARCH SERVICE PROJECT
Rivers Casino volunteers assist with stocking and food distribution, plus donation
Pittsburgh — March 25, 2025 — Rivers Casino Pittsburgh’s Rivers Gives team will once again partner with Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Northside Common Ministries to support the Northside Food Pantry on Wednesday, March 26.
Casino volunteers will assist with stocking shelves and distributing food to community members in need from 8:30 a.m. to noon. As part of the initiative, Rivers Casino will also be making a donation of $2,500 to further the pantry’s mission.
For more than 40 years, Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s Northside Common Ministries has been dedicated to combating food insecurity and providing essential resources to Pittsburgh’s Northside community. The Northside Food Pantry operates with a unique supermarket-style model, allowing individuals and families to select nutritious items in a dignified setting.
“We’re grateful for Rivers Casino’s continued support in helping us serve our neighbors in need,” said Lauren Brown, Vice President of External Relations. “The gift of time and treasure help us to continue providing critical food assistance to the community.”
“Fighting food insecurity remains a core focus of our Rivers Gives program,” said Dr. Rahmon Hart, director of community relations at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. “Northside Common Ministries is doing incredible work, and we’re honored to support their efforts in making a difference for local families.”
Rivers Gives is the casino’s long-running community outreach initiative, in which team members report to work at a local nonprofit instead of the gaming floor.
Last month, Rivers Gives volunteers partnered with the Southwestern Veterans’ Center, serving ice cream to hospitalized U.S. military veterans in recognition of National Salute to Veteran Patients Week.
